
DM Projects Pty Ltd was founded in 2004 by Manfred Famler and Danny Coral. Each has over 25 years experience in the building industry which enables us to offer a wide range of services including commercial and residential construction (including fitouts and refurbishments), project management and repairs/maintenance.
It is important to D.M. Projects that we work closely with our clients to achieve optimal results. We understand the value of a thorough consultative process with our clients, this enables us to determine their requirements and advise appropriate solutions to their specific needs.
Listed below are some of the completed and ongoing projects undertaken by the company:
1. Drummoyne Rowing Club
Total internal refurbishment and extension, which included doubling the floor area, installing a new bar, gaming area and bathrooms.
2. Mount St Josephs, Milperra
Staff room refurbishment.
3. Various retail shop fittings:
- Coco Nobue (Strand Arcade and Paddington),
- Bare Design (Strand Arcade and Paddington),
- Pentimento (Newtown); and
- Oroton (Liverpool).
4. Queen Victoria Building
Project management of upgrade of car park signage and painting.
5. Orchard Arcade
Refurbishment and repair of unsafe awning, including organisation of council permits to block public access ways during construction.
6. Orchard Tavern
Repairs and maintenance.
7. Marian Court Retirement Village, Strathfield.
Since commencing on site in 2005 the company has had a presence on site continuously. The facility was opened in 1965 and has required a considerable amount of repairs, maintenance and modernisation.
Work undertaken includes:
- Design and construction of the refurbishment of the hostel care facility to treatment rooms, chapel, function area, and temporary accommodation.
- Design and construction of the extension of the car park area.
- Design and construction of multiple unit refurbishments. The complex has 78 single units most of which are being converted to double units and the remaining single units are also being refurbished. The project is approximately half way through this process. All units are completely stripped and refitted.
- Replacement of the main sewer under the building which required extensive excavation and construction of retaining walls.
- General repairs and maintenance.
- Design and construction of the new administration offices.
- Design and construction of the common area refurbishment.
- Replacement of timber windows and doors.
- Concrete cancer repairs to balconies.
- Upgrade of electrical switch room including replacing old metering with digital metering.
MLC Centre, Sydney CBD
- Refurbishment of toilets.
- Repairs to external area ceilings.
- Repairs to main foyer shopfront.
- Repairs including replacing cladding to telecommunications hut to building roof.
- Repairs to ceiling throughout building.
AMWU Building, Surry Hills
- Repairs to leaking roof, installation of new roof membrane and relocation of air conditioning plant on elevated walk ways.
Loreto College, Kirribilli
- Refurbishment of teachers common room including installation of new window to side of the building.
- Concrete cancer repairs to underground car park.
- Construction of new lift shaft.
- Numerous repairs and maintenance items.
Excelsior Hotel, Surry Hills
- Refurbishment of bathroom to accommodation area.
- Repairs and maintenance to bar, gaming area and bistro.
St Michaels Parish, Lane Cove
- Repairs to bell tower (damaged after lightning strike).
- Refurbishment of timber pews in Chapel.
- Repair and maintenance to hall including repainting and roof repairs.
- Re-roofing of OOSH house building with new terracotta tiles.
- Design and refurbishment of presbytery accommodation area including new bathroom, laundry, repainting, new lighting, flooring etc.
- Repairs and maintenance to church and school grounds since 2005.
- Refurbishment of Priests office including repainting, designing and installing new joinery.
Diplomat Motel, Alice Springs NT
- Provide design and construct refurbishment project management services for reception, Stumps Restaurant, and Uncles Tavern. This included involvement in all aspects of interior redesign, rebranding, logos, furnishings, uniforms etc. and implementation and completion of works.
- Organisation of re-dressing of guest rooms (in collaboration with an interior designer) including new bed linen for the 90 room motel.
- Maintenance management: provide support and advice to get urgent repairs undertaken.
- Maintenance and ongoing upgrades to property.
Cane Growers Arcade Mackay Qld
- Project management services for property upgrade and maintenance, including tenant repairs, grounds repairs and common area repairs.
- Upgrade of all common areas including new signage and new corporate colour scheme.
Background
Manfred Famler
Since starting in the building industry in 1985 I have a developed a wide range of experience.
I started in the family building company (Loneven Pty Ltd) which undertook renovations to factories and houses for numerous clients including many clothing manufacturers including, Table 8, Track Master, Masquerade, and Sugar House Bridal.
In 1992, on leaving the family business, I worked as a supervisor in the field of insurance restoration, specializing in fire reinstatement work on both domestic and commercial sites. This also included some new building of house and factory units.
In 1995 I moved into the interior fitout field as projects manager for Competi Pty Ltd. For the next 6 years I managed design and construction of many interior fitout projects including running the Competi maintenance team at the Sydney international airport. Other work undertaken at the international airport was the refurbishment of offices for the Sydney Airport Corporation Limited, and fitout of the VIP areas.
Other projects included the fitout of the McGrath Partners head office in Edgecliff, the fitout of the Credit Lyonnais office, fitout of the ACP head office which included both James Packers office and personal residence, and an office fitout for Ticketek.
In 2001, I worked as a senior estimator for Classic Resources which included David Jones as one of its clients.
From 2002 – 2004 I was a project manager for Effective Fitout Solutions. I carried out projects for many clients including Wheel and Barrow, Shakespears Pies, a unit refurbishment at Balmoral beach, refurbishment of the Covent Gardens Hotel, Haymarket, the refurbishment of the Neutral Bay Club (converting the existing bar using an Irish theme).
I am a licensed builder (Unrestricted Gold Builders Licence), I have a Green Card in construction safety and have undertaken a Project Management Course at the University of Sydney.
